【明報專訊】沙田穗禾選區公民黨候選人查錫我的競選經理，在上周收到恐嚇電話，以粗言穢語喝罵及表明要「斬佢全家」。當事人報警，警方列作刑事恐嚇案處理。查錫我指出，他的競選經理並無與人結仇，最近只是幫他助選，相信事件可能與區議會選舉有關。

查錫我的競選經理林太回應本報查詢時表示，自己在區內開店舖，在上周收到電話，對方聲稱是某某人的擁護者，然後不斷粗言穢語，「更說要斬開我幾多碌」。她指自己沒有結私怨，過去替民主派助選時也多次受到恐嚇。她拒絕透露該男子自稱是誰的擁護者。

公民黨發表聲明，指對事件極度驚訝，並強烈譴責有關人士，要求警方盡力破案。穗禾區目前有3人參選，除了查錫我，還包括現任區議員民建聯彭長緯及前铫的李瑞霞。

警方證實，10月17日曾收到一名女士報案，報稱較早前在沙田區收到匿名電話，警方列為刑事恐嚇案處理。

　　三天前(21/10/2007)，一名不知名中國男子致電公民黨沙田穗禾選區候選人查錫我的競選代理人，用粗言穢語辱罵她，並恐嚇會把她和她的家人斬成一塊塊。有關事件已向警方舉報，警方已把此案列為刑事恐嚇案處理。公民黨對有關事件表示極度驚訝，並對有關人士所作之非法行為強烈譴責。　香港市民一向奉公守法，而歷屆議會選舉均在非暴力，公平和公開的情況下進行。此優良傳統正受到嚴重挑戰。香港市民絕對不會容許把暴力或威嚇等犯罪行為帶入選舉。公民黨要求警方盡全力破案，把有關罪犯繩之於法。

Press Release from Civic Party on District Council Election    

                Three days ago (21/10/2007), an unidentified Chinese male called the Election Agent of Mr. Stephen Char, who is Civic Party’s candidate of Sui Wo Constituency in Shatin, using foul and insulting language.  The said Chinese male also threatened that he would chop the Election Agent and her family members into pieces.  The incident had been reported to the police and it was classified as a criminal intimidation case by the police.  The Civic Party is appalled and strongly condemns such unlawful behaviour.  Our long established tradition of having a non-violent, fair and open election is being seriously challenged.  Hong Kong people are law abiding citizens who would not tolerate anyone using violence or threat of using violence in our elections.   The Civic Party urges the police to follow up the investigation vigorously and bring the criminal concerned to justice as soon as possible.
